Holiday Gift Guide for Travelers

Figuring out what to get people for Christmas can be challenging! I have compiled a list of useful and desirable gifts that you can get travelers in your life in any price range! If you’re a traveler, maybe you can pass this list on to someone who will be giving you a gift this year.

Matching Luggage Set

Nothing is nicer to a traveler than to have a set of matching luggage! If you want to upgrade your luggage set, think about a matching set. Consider the Delsey set at Macy’s. I have the larger one, which I like a lot, and purchased it when my luggage was lost for over a month and I needed a new suitcase. I now wish I had the entire set!

Travel Journal

Besides photographs, there’s no better way to record every moment of your trip than with a travel journal. Consider purchasing a journal with prompts, especially if you are unsure where to begin. There are many types depending on what type of traveling you do. This is an inexpensive gift to purchase for a traveler or to request for the holidays!

Comfortable Travel Pillow

If you’re like me, the average travel pillow is just not working anymore. Long-haul flights can be miserable and uncomfortable and I need the perfect travel pillow to accompany me on those trips. This can require spending a bit more money than I usually would on myself, but this would make a great gift or option to put on your Christmas list! The TRTL pillow is not the average travel neck pillow, but the reviews are great!!

Weekender Bag

Weekender bags are perfect for those that are always on the go! If you like to take weekend getaways, the Catalina Deluxe from Lo & Sons may be a great option for you. Depending on the person, you can find weekenders that are also smaller as well. These are also great carry-on options that can fit right on top of your larger suitcase to make it easy for hauling around.

Travel Camera Bag

This is the camera bag of my dreams! This particular one from Lo & Sons has been on my Christmas list for the last two years. Last year it sold out in the color I wanted, so hopefully this year I will get it! It fits a DSLR perfectly and can double as a purse. A travel camera bag is perfect for keeping your camera safe and compact instead of having something too bulky to carry around. Now that I have a mirrorless camera, it will be the perfect cute accessory that also holds my camera when I travel!

Matching Loungewear Set

A matching loungewear set is perfect for traveling. When wondering what you’re going to wear on the airplane or in the car, think no more- you should have some go-to loungewear sets. Be comfortable when you’re traveling, especially if you don’t HAVE to be anywhere straight off the plane or when you get to your destination!

Kindle

Keep multiple books with you at once, especially if you are a quick reader! If you like to take books with you when you travel, then a Kindle is a small and compact alternative to a hard copy of a book. These can vary in price depending on the version you choose. Kindles can be a gift under $100 though!

Scratch Off Map

Every traveler needs a scratch-off map. If you are a US traveler, consider adding a scratch-off map of all 50 states to your wishlist. There are maps for every type of traveler, including one for all of the National Parks! You can even pick out one that reveals beautiful images after scratching off the places you visit. These can be purchased from Amazon, Etsy, or various other sites.

Travel Water Bottle

I LOVE bringing my Hydro Flask water bottle with me when I travel. It comes in many sizes and has a handle at the top that makes it easy for carrying, but I can also strap on onto my backpack to ensure I don’t lose it. Hydro Flask keeps my water nice and cold and I love that it also has a mouthpiece with a straw that closes well to prevent spillage. This has been one of my favorite purchases, but it can be a bit pricy, especially if you are wanting a bigger one, that’s why it is a great thing to put on your Christmas list!

Noise Canceling Headphones

Whether you want earbuds are headphones is up to you. I currently have a set of Apple AirPods that I use when I travel and I won’t say that earbuds are my favorite for traveling, but they work best for me in other situations so that is what I have. However, a great set of noise-canceling headphones would be a great item to put on your Christmas list if you don’t already have a set. According to Travel and Leisure, the best Overall is the Bose Noise Canceling Headphones 700. Blocking out sound while traveling through a busy airport or on a plane is critical to some. Consider researching a pair that fits your needs best!

Passport Case

Passport cases can range from various prices. If you choose to purchase a high-quality leather RFID case then you will have to be willing to pay more for one. If you choose to go with something more simple and don’t care to have anything designer brand then you can find a relatively inexpensive one on Amazon. This one from Amazon has RFID blocking along with other great features for a really low price! I have a Kate Spade one that I love but unfortunately, I do not believe it has RFID features.

Luggage Tags

While this gift seems so insignificant, I can promise you I love having my luggage tags! I had to get a brand new suitcase after the airline I previously flew had lost mine, so I didn’t have my tags. I used those paper ones that they have for you at the check-in counter and nothing compares to having a nice set of luggage tags, especially if your suitcase is hard to pick out at baggage claim! Just like the passport cases, there are plenty of options in all price ranges, but of course, I will recommend something durable and waterproof! The one below is from Samsonite which I have one similar to, just in a different color.

Go Pro

One of these days I will finally splurge on a GoPro but I have not yet! However, if you are big into adventure traveling, this should definitely be on your wishlist. This is more of an expensive gift, especially for a newer model, but would be worth it! If you are not an adventure traveler, you can still benefit from owning a GoPro. I would suggest doing research on them prior to deciding to purchase one.

Travel Flatware

Travel flatware is an expensive but useful item to bring along with you for your next trip. Any time I’ve traveled and gotten anything taken to-go I’ve always had to worry if I have utensils to eat with later on. Having a set of reusable flatware with you can ensure that you will always have what you need! Hydro Flask makes a set and you can find some on Amazon as well.

Apple AirTags

Keep track of where your luggage is at all times with the Apple AirTags. If you have a habit of losing things while you travel as well, these may be perfect to put on your list as well. You can get multiple ones and use the radar in the Find My app to keep track of your stuff! This would give me peace of mind knowing my luggage is following me and where it is when I am traveling by plane. AirTags start at $29 so this could be a great option to get almost anyone could get you!
