Often people perceive international travel as being overly expensive, and while this may be true for some destinations, with the right research and the right destination, international travel can be very budget-friendly! Costa Rica
There are definitely some factors to consider for budget travelers when planning their expenses. Costa Rica has a reputations for being one of those more expensive touristy places, but really looking for the right deals will let you have a fantastic trip on a budget! There are plenty of rural and less traveled towns and beaches that offer less expensive accommodations. I have researched Costa Rica plenty of times and finding inexpensive accommodations and going during the off-season are important to consider when planning your trip to Costa Rica. I personally could lie on the beach for free all day if you let me (lol).
Mexico
Mexico has always been known for being a cheaper destination. Flights from certain cities in the U.S., especially at the right time, can be SO cheap! My trip I planned to Tulum was a total of $900 for 4 nights. It could actually be cheaper!. Mexico is so diverse and has a lot to offer, just look ahead to make sure where you are headed is safe to travel to! Thailand
Thailand is one of those places where the flights can actually be really expensive. If you look in the shoulder season you can find flights less than $1000 for sure. Once you are there, accommodations are super cheap and the costs of activities per day is very inexpensive. Destinations like Thailand, you can afford to spend more than a week there if you are willing to pay just to get there! That is the biggest costs, airline prices.
Croatia
I have looked into visiting Croatia several times, and after pricing everything it ended up being a very affordable destination! The flights from my home-town were not very cheap, but once I looked at accommodations and activities, it would end up costing just as much as traveling in the United States. There is SO much to do in Croatia and staying for more than a week is doable, especially after worrying about the flights! I ended up staying in Dubrovnik which can be a bit more pricey since its such a touristy town, but it was doable after saving up my money!
