I am looking forward to so many new adventures. COVID-19 has really put a damper on my most recent plans. I try not to dwell on the pain it has caused to cancel a planned trip to two dream destinations, but it hasn’t been easy. I planned to visit NYC in the summer to cross off an item on my bucket list and then fly to Amsterdam for a week. That trip was cancelled. I have been overwhelmed lately with the idea that traveling internationally may be a ways off from now. Prior to the cancellation of that trip in June, I booked flights to Vienna, Austria for January. This has given me a little thread of hope to hold on too.
The closer January comes, the more scared I get of having to cancel another trip. So far our flights and AirBnbs are booked for the trip. I would love to go further in planning this two week vacation, but with everything up in the air, it is hard to make solid plans.
The plan is to visit Vienna, Hallstatt, Venice, Budapest, and the back to Vienna to fly home. There are so many things I look forward to as January approaches. Our AirBnbs are so perfect and we can’t wait to see them in person! I want to hold onto the hope I have that a vacation will be coming soon, but I also can’t ignore the realities of COVID-19 and how it is impacting the world and the travel industry.
My next hope is for the summer of 2021. Even if my trip does not get cancelled again, I will be returning to Europe for a summer vacation!! I have so many ideas and dream destinations but realize I will need to budget-travel because of the lack of income throughout this pandemic.
What are your dream destinations? Do you have any upcoming trips planned? Any trips cancelled? I get you and I understand you. I am hoping that we can get back to traveling to our favorite and dream destinations soon!
